Over 24,000 hectares of arable land ready for farming in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend
Around 24,000 hectares of more than 50,000 hectares of arable land in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts remain outside the active crop rotation cycle and are fully prepared for agricultural cultivation, the Special Representative of the President for these districts, Emin Huseynzada, stated. He noted that in the Aghdam district alone, arable agricultural plots total nearly 33,000 hectares.
Urging private agribusinesses and farmers to invest in cultivating these lands, Huseynzada stressed that necessary public infrastructure, fertile plots, and comprehensive state support mechanisms are already in place. He emphasized that the new State Program actively incentivizes the shift away from extensive farming toward high-yield intensive production, deploying water-saving technologies, modern drip irrigation networks, and sustainable agro-industrial practices across the liberated territories.
