State subsidizes up to 70% of non-oil export logistics, says agriculture minister
The government of Azerbaijan covers up to 70% of logistics and transportation expenses incurred during the export of non-oil goods, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov stated. Underscoring that this initiative provides substantial state support, the minister noted that the primary operational responsibility for scaling production rests with private enterprises.
According to Mammadov, local farmers and agribusinesses must accelerate the transition toward modern, intensive farming methods, investing in cold storage infrastructure, agro-processing facilities, freight transport, and brand equity development. The minister pointed out that existing public assistance programs span both initial capital investment and active production cycles. He noted that target subsidies for harvest yields, pedigree livestock, and international certification are designed to align domestic agricultural output with stringent global quality standards and overseas market access requirements.
