Azerbaijan, Cambodia expand trade and investment

Azerbaijan and Cambodia have agreed to establish a joint working group and draft a bilateral framework agreement to expand trade and investment cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced in a joint press briefing in Baku on October 12.

The leaders discussed addressing current low trade volumes through joint industrial ventures, expanding ties in tourism and education, pursuing a bilateral air transport pact, and implementing Azerbaijan’s "ASAN service" public governance model and digital solutions.

Both sides underscored the importance of technical exchange in humanitarian demining; President Aliyev highlighted that over 400 people have been killed or injured by landmines in liberated territories, where nearly 100,000 citizens currently reside and work under the "Great Return" reconstruction program. Hun Manet invited an Azerbaijani business delegation to Cambodia and confirmed his attendance at the upcoming CICA Summit in Baku.
