Azerbaijan covers up to 70% of transport costs for eligible exports
Azerbaijan has introduced a mechanism for the state to cover up to 70% of transportation costs for eligible non-oil and gas exports, Economy Minister’s adviser Huseyn Huseynov said.
Speaking at the Business Dialogue panel of the seventh World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Huseynov said the measures aimed to reduce the costs businesses face when entering foreign markets.
Support also includes partial compensation for customs clearance fees for micro, small and medium-sized exporters, he said. He did not specify the products covered, eligibility requirements or when the mechanisms took effect.
Huseynov said non-oil and gas exports, excluding monetary gold, rose by 20.5% in January–September 2026. He did not provide the value of exports or specify the comparison period.
Azerbaijan was also supporting small and medium-sized businesses’ participation in cross-border trade and international supply chains, with a focus on digitalisation and the green transition, he said.
