Ararat Mirzoyan Suggests TRIPP Project Could Launch Prior to Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty
The TRIPP project could be initiated ahead of the formal signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during an address to the national parliament, citing regional diplomatic developments.
In response to queries regarding the timeline, Mirzoyan affirmed the feasibility of launching the transit and infrastructure initiative before a finalized peace accord. He noted that the draft treaty text has been initialed and its content acknowledged by both sides, asserting that Yerevan attributes the remaining signing delays to Baku’s requests concerning amendments to Armenia’s Constitution.
Maintaining that de facto stability currently prevails on the ground, Mirzoyan added that implementing TRIPP and related joint initiatives could serve as a catalyst to facilitate the conclusion of a formal peace treaty.
