Azerbaijan Stands as Georgia’s Top Foreign Investor with Nearly $4 Billion Invested — PM Ali Asadov
Investment ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia continue to showcase strong momentum, with Azerbaijan solidifying its position as Georgia’s largest overall foreign investor, deploying nearly $4 billion in capital. The statement was delivered by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the 11th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Tbilisi.
The Prime Minister emphasized that bilateral trade expanded by 42% over the first nine months of 2026, already eclipsing total volumes recorded throughout the entire prior year and nearing the $1 billion milestone. Underscoring transport and logistics as the cornerstone of bilateral strategic ties, Asadov noted that the full-scale operational rollout of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway link alongside its expanded 5-million-ton annual transit throughput exemplifies collaborative infrastructure delivery across the Middle Corridor.
