Crypto Sell-off Deepens as Bitcoin Dips Below $77,000 Mark

Selling pressure across the cryptocurrency market accelerated over the past 24 hours, driving the majority of digital assets lower. According to CoinMarketCap metrics, Bitcoin slipped 2.21% on the day to trade at $76,761.78, dragging its overall market capitalization down to $1.54 trillion and widening its 30-day cumulative loss to 9.49%.
Broad corrections rippled through major altcoins: Ethereum declined 2.39% to $2,249.39, BNB dropped 2.58% to $695.02, while Zcash posted the sharpest decline, plunging 11.37% to $1,134.84. Downward momentum also hit Bittensor ($223.67, -4.24%), Bitcoin Cash ($274.14, -4.00%), and Quant ($192.53, -3.85%). Defying the broader downturn, Monero gained 0.75% to reach $605.69, while asset-backed tokens mirrored gold’s defensive strength, with PAX Gold (PAXG) advancing 0.33% to $3,925.33 and Tether Gold (XAUT) edging up 0.39% to $3,911.84. The CoinMarketCap 20 Index dropped 2.40% to 155.66 points, reflecting heightened investor risk aversion and persistent liquidation pressure.
