Azerbaijan central bank drafts amendments to securities market legislation

Azerbaijan’s central bank has drafted legislative amendments to improve the legal framework governing the securities market, Governor Taleh Kazimov said.

The draft is being coordinated with the relevant government agencies. Kazimov did not specify the proposed changes or a timetable for their adoption.

Securities market turnover totalled 35 billion manats in the first nine months of 2026, he said. Equity market trading volume rose ninefold to 2.6 billion manats.

Trading turnover in corporate securities increased by 77%, while the number of transactions rose 2.5-fold.
