Tankers Carrying Russian Diesel to US Divert Course Over Sanctions Concerns — Financial Times

Two tankers ferrying Russian diesel fuel bound for the United States have altered their declared destinations, while a third vessel continues toward the US coastline under "awaiting orders" status.
According to the Financial Times, the tanker Talisman, originally tasked with discharging cargo along the US Atlantic seaboard, is idling off the coast of Algeria in the Mediterranean. The second vessel, Leruo, has diverted its destination to Brazil. The third vessel, Agioi Fanendes, remains underway toward New York but has logged an AIS navigation status of "for orders".
Commodity intelligence firm Kpler suggests the third tanker may likewise reroute. Analysts attribute the course changes to heightened risk aversion among US commercial buyers wary of potential legal exposure and secondary sanctions penalties associated with handling Russian petroleum products.
