Gold climbs as US bond yields fall

Gold prices advanced in early Asian trading on Friday, lifted by declining U.S. Treasury yields, while silver ticked down as investors braced for the latest U.S. non-farm payrolls data.
Spot gold gained 0.4% to trade at $4,101.80 per ounce, whereas spot silver slipped 0.2% to $52.16 per ounce.
The yield on benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury notes dipped to 4.84%, hovering near its lowest level since September 10. Weaker bond yields reduce the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding bullion, bolstering demand across the sector.
