Azerbaijan and Ukraine expand energy and reconstruction ties

Azerbaijan and Ukraine agreed to deepen cooperation across renewable energy, manufacturing, and postwar reconstruction during an intergovernmental commission meeting in Uzhhorod, media reported.
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov outlined key areas of mutual interest, including green power, energy storage, electromobility, food processing, logistics, and building materials. The two sides are also weighing joint industrial ventures and Ukrainian investments in Azerbaijan's Alat Free Economic Zone and industrial parks.
Baku signaled strong interest in participating in Ukrainian privatization drives, public-private partnerships, and reconstruction efforts. Shahbazov noted that bilateral trade exceeds $500 million annually, with 290 Ukrainian-backed firms operating in Azerbaijan, while major Azerbaijani entities SOCAR and NEQSOL Holding maintain substantial operations across Ukraine.
