Europe fills its gas storages by more than half

European companies continue to pump gas into the underground storages as they prepare for the winter season.

The gas storages are now full by over 50%, reported from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

As of June 8, the European gas storages are 50.24% full, with an almost 0.4% growth over the past day. The total volume of gas in the storages has reached about 53.3 billion cubic meters.

The companies started pumping gas into the storages on March 19 this year, but in late March-early April, they withdrew some of the volumes due to bad weather. At that time the gas storages were 25.5% full.
