Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan will hold regular military exercises

In the framework of the tripartite cooperation of Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan, joint command and field military exercises will be held. This was announced after the meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili with the head of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Army General Necdet Ozel in Tbilisi on 23 October.

The date and venue of the exercise will be announced later.

The sides discussed issues of deepening cooperation between the two countries, including in the sphere of military education.

"We have repeatedly said and, most importantly, proved that Turkey is not only a neighbor of Georgia, but also a friend and strategic partner," said Garibashvili.

The Georgian government has expressed hope that Turkey will be the most involved in the process of implementation of the package of measures for the approximation of Georgia and NATO.

Recall that the first joint military exercises of the three countries were held in Azerbaijan in September.
