All possible measures must be taken to protect the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant from any kind of attack, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said during his visit to the plant, reported from TASS.
He noted that the IAEA is developing a concept for the protection of the plant itself, and not the territory around it. "Initially, we focused on the possibility of creating a certain zone around the station. Now the concept is developing - we are concentrating more on the protection itself and on things that should be avoided. Now we are not focused on the territorial aspect, which creates certain problems. This work is in progress,” he said.
Grossi also noted that the IAEA is trying to prepare and propose realistic protection measures that can be agreed upon by all parties.
