Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan will arrive in Azerbaijan on Monday for talks on various issues.
Dehqan is going to visit Baku at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.
The Iranian minister is planned to meet high-ranking Azerbaijani officials to discuss a range of bilateral, regional and international issues, as well as talks on defense cooperation between Tehran and Baku.
A year ago, the Azerbaijani defense minister paid a two-day visit to Iran.
During Hasanov’s stay in Tehran in April 2014, Dehqan voiced Iran’s preparedness to provide Azerbaijan with whatever defensive assistance it needs.
In a sign of close ties between Iran and Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev also visited Iran in April 2014 and separate meetings with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.
