26.04.2023 14:30
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin ahead of the ceremony of delivering nuclear fuel to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, said official representative of the Turkish leader, Ibrahim Kalin, reported from Turkish media.

"Before the ceremony at the Akkuyu plant, the president will have a telephone conversation with Putin,” Kalin said

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at the UN headquarters in New York that Putin would visit Türkiye and take part in the ceremony.

In early April, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez told CNN Turk that electricity generation at nuclear power plants would begin before the end of April 2024.
