Kazakhstan sells locomotives to Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) agreed to sell goods to Azerbaijan valued at $350m, including 10 locomotives to be shipped this year, the state-owned company said.

The General Electric’s Evolution-series train engine purchase by Azerbaijan was financed via leasing from the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.

The General Electric opened the locomotive assembly plant in Kazakhstan in 2009.
