The statue of the heroes of the book "Ali and Nino" of Azerbaijani author Kurban Said was ruined in Georgian Batumi.

News.Az reports with reference to the Georgian media that local authorities were going to move the monument to another location to save it from the waves.

But when they were picking up one of the sculptures, they dropped it and it broke down.

The composition is located on the sea coast, at the entrance to the city. The author of the sculpture is Tamara Kvesitadze, it was installed in 2011.

The sculpture symbolizes eternal love and understanding between nations. It was named in honor of the heroes of the same-name book, authored by Kurban Said.
