An exhibition of paintings from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Argentina has opened in Baku’s “1969” gallery.

The exhibition, called Ferqli Baharlar, or Different Springs, was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It features nearly 60 paintings about spring in various parts of the world.

The idea of organizing such an exhibition in the Azerbaijani capital came from Turan Muxtarzade, a talented artist and teacher. She learned the art of painting from Sakit Mammadov, a decorated Azerbaijani painter.

Muxtarzade’s own school of art, called Turan Art, adheres to impressionism. Therefore, works by her students that were displayed at the exhibition had features of impressionism with their diverse palette of colors and combinations.

Artist of various ages participated in the exhibition. Despite their ages, however, they all were still learning painters.

A large number of people visited the exhibition, including diplomats from Turkey and Argentina and prominent figures of Azerbaijani culture. Bahram Bagirzade, a member of the legendary KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive) team “Parni iz Baku” (Baku Boys), was among the guests.

Many visitors took the opportunity to pose for photos with Bahram Bagirzada. There was also a large media presence at the exhibition.

Two of the foreign paintings drew particular attention. One of them was by Marta Riva De Quesada, wife of the Argentinian ambassador in Baku. Ms De Quesada started learning the art of painting nearly six months ago and has been quite a successful student at Turan Art.

Her works feature the beauty of nature in Azerbaijan, as well as old buildings in Baku.

The other foreign painter, Pakize Kilic, was from Turkey.
