Kyrgyzstan will purchase 10,000 tons of sugar from Azerbaijan, said Kyrgyzstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Tayirbek Sarpashev, Azernews reported.
Speaking to journalists on June 5, he said the Kyrgyz government has signed an agreement on the sale of sugar from Azerbaijan.
"We have already held talks with the Azerbaijani side on this issue. The sale prices in the Kyrgyz market will amount to 45 soms per kilogram, which is 15-20 percent lower than the market prices," Sarpashev said.
He also expressed confident that the sale of sugar at the market will begin in two weeks.
"We know that some companies increase sugar prices to 60-70 soms during summer. But it will not happen anymore," he added.
