Leyla Aliyeva denies reports she’ll run for parliament

Leyla Aliyeva, elder daughter of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, has denied reports she’s going to run for parliament in elections slated for November.
"Leyla Aliyeva is actively involved in the public and political life of the country,” the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said in a statement. "However, reports that she’ll run for parliament aren’t true.”
Leyla, 30, is the vice president at the fund.
Siyavus Novruzov, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), had earlier said the party was going to nominate Leyla as a candidate in the elections.
