A Qatari billionaire is believed to be buying two apartments in one of New York's most expensive buildings which is being built overlooking Central Park.
The unnamed individual is believed to have expressed an interest in knocking the wall between two penthouses at the 220 Central Park South building to create the ultimate home.
The luxury building has been delayed for several years while the developers battled with planning and regulatory authorities to get permission to begin construction.
Five of the cheaper penthouses in the building are priced at more than $50million while one is $100million.
The final two, which are the most expensive, do not have a price tag, which according to The Real Deal, is fueling speculation that a single buyer is planning to make a single, luxury apartment.
So far, the developers are believed to have sold apartments in the building for more than $1billion, and if the remaining units reach their anticipated prices, the entire property will have sold for around $3billion.
