The explosion in the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline in Turkey didn’t have an impact on the operation of the Shah Deniz platform in Azerbaijan, BP said.

BP operates the Shah Deniz gas field and the Azerbaijani section of the pipeline.

The company said the field’s output is being ramped up after a 20-day maintenance.

"Three to four days are needed to completely fill the pipeline with gas from the field,” the company said. "Since production resumed at Shah Deniz on Sunday evening, gas started to be pumped into the pipeline, and the fuel hasn’t yet reached Turkey.”
