Trump expresses willingness to cooperate with Azerbaijan

The United States highly values its partnership with Azerbaijan and the country’s contribution to regional energy stability, and looks forward to further cooperation with Baku, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an address to participants of Baku Energy Week.
The address was read by Wyatt Telke, Senior Advisor to the U.S. State Department, and the text was published on the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.
Trump emphasized that over the past 30 years, Azerbaijan has demonstrated leadership in the regional energy sector and shown commitment to global energy security.
"Our two countries have achieved a highly productive partnership in the hydrocarbon sector. We share the view that natural gas will play a key role in meeting the world’s growing energy demand in the coming decades. We support every country’s right to utilize its own resources for its prosperity. The U.S. values its partnership with Azerbaijan and the regional energy stability that enables it. I look forward to our continued cooperation in this vital area. Together, we can achieve greater energy independence, sustainable development, and economic growth," the U.S. leader noted.
For his part, Telke recalled that Washington and Baku have maintained a strong energy partnership for decades.
"Last year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the signing of the 'Contract of the Century,' which laid the foundation for our solid bilateral energy relations. From the 'Contract of the Century' to the Southern Gas Corridor, Azerbaijan has demonstrated leadership and foresight, establishing itself as a key pillar of energy security in the region and beyond. We look forward to further cooperation with Azerbaijan to unlock the potential of energy abundance and ensure our future energy security," the State Department official added.
