French embassy likens Baku–Yerevan dialogue to historic Paris–Berlin reconciliation
The French embassy in Azerbaijan has compared the dialogue between Baku and Yerevan to the historic reconciliation between Paris and Berlin.
“Azerbaijan and Armenia have also taken a first step toward peace. Every gesture matters,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement marking the anniversary of the Élysée Treaty.
The Élysée Treaty was signed on Jan. 22, 1963, at the Élysée Palace in Paris, laying the foundation for a new chapter in relations between France and the Federal Republic of Germany and ending centuries of rivalry between the two countries.
