The number of Israeli tourists visiting Azerbaijan reached 60,000
Trade relations between Israel and Azerbaijan expanded in 2025, while the number of Israeli tourists visiting Azerbaijan reached about 60,000, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said.
Saar made the remarks at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku.
He expressed confidence that these figures would continue to grow in 2026. According to Saar, Israel is interested in sharing expertise with Azerbaijan in areas such as cybersecurity and agriculture and is also considering investment opportunities in the Azerbaijani economy.
The Israeli foreign minister stressed that the Jewish community has historically lived in Azerbaijan in conditions of peace and security, reflecting the special nature of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Commenting on Iran, Saar said that pressure from Tehran was observed on October 6. He noted that reports of violence and mass repression against Iran’s own population raise serious questions about how the country can be expected to behave toward other states.
“Israeli society believes in friendship with Azerbaijan and highly values these relations,” Saar added.
