Iran pledges investigation into Nakhchivan incident, says Azerbaijan’s FM

Iran has promised to investigate the recent incident in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press briefing with his Moldovan counterpart Nicolae Popșoi in Baku. 

Bayramov noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s statements yesterday conveyed a clear message regarding the seriousness of the matter.

The minister added that during a phone call with the Iranian leadership, the issue was discussed thoroughly, and Azerbaijan is now awaiting the results of the investigation.
