Aliyev receives Turkish justice minister

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gurlek on July 2.

Gurlek conveyed greetings from Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to the Azerbaijani leader. Aliyev thanked him and asked that his greetings be conveyed to Erdogan.

The Turkish minister said ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, based on shared history, culture and brotherhood, continued to develop thanks to the close relations between the two countries’ presidents.

Gürlek also highlighted Azerbaijan’s role in strategic energy and connectivity projects in the region, including the Zangezur corridor, and said Turkey would continue to stand by Azerbaijan.

The sides noted the successful development of brotherly and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey and discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two countries’ justice ministries.
