Erdogan adviser says OTS should become global power centre

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) should become one of the world’s centres of power, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s chief adviser Seyit Sertcelik said in Baku on Monday.

“The 21st century should be an era of development for the Turkic world,” Sertcelik, a member of the Turkish Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Council, told a panel titled “Turkic World Dialogues: Common Future, Common Vision.”

He said the OTS countries’ broad geography, positive demographic trends, military potential, rich natural resources and modern transport infrastructure provided opportunities to increase the organisation’s global influence.

Sertcelik added that the member states were united by common ethnic roots, ancient history and culture, as well as adherence to traditional values.
