Sheikh-ul-Islam Pashazadeh warns against exploiting hijab issue
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, declared attempts to exploit the hijab topic to incite unrest and create a rift between believers and the state unacceptable, speaking in an interview with Real TV.
Pashazadeh stressed that the regulatory framework under discussion addresses standardized school uniform guidelines rather than a specific ban on the hijab, noting that the issue has been deliberately sensationalized to manipulate religious sentiment.
Calling on devout citizens to exercise patience and uphold statehood, the CMB leader warned against external attempts to instrumentalize the memories of martyr families. He expressed full confidence that the matter would be resolved through the Ministry of Science and Education, affirming that efforts to engineer public confrontation will fail.
