President Ilham Aliyev has been decorated with the South-South Award for his contribution to the improvement of welfare and education in Azerbaijan.
The awarding ceremony was held in New York on September 26.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the award on behalf of President Aliyev.
The South-South Awards was co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, South-South Steering Committee for Sustainable Development, International Telecommunication Union, International Organization for South-South Cooperation as well as the UN member states, agencies and funds.
