Azerbaijan: Central Bank cuts capital adequacy ratio to help banks

Azerbaijan’s Central Bank has lowered the capital adequacy ratio to 10 percent from 12 percent to help banks as manat plunged almost 50 percent against the dollar this year because of low crude prices.

Effective Dec. 29, the requirement for Tier I capital ratio was also reduced to 5 percent from 6 percent, the Central Bank said.
