You won't believe what Apple is trying to remove from the iPhone

Apple’s next iPhone won’t be here until September but that’s not stopping fans getting in a fluster.

With news spreading that the iPhone 7 may not include a standard headphone jack a petition has been set up to try and stop the major design change.

It’s thought Apple is considering ditching the port in a bid to make the iPhone 7 the thinnest ever.

However, going thinner will mean users wanting to listen to tunes on the new iPhone could be forced to buy a new pair headphones.

Audio devices are likely to be connected via the lightning port on the base of the iPhone, meaning standard headphones won't fit.

The online petition states "If the rumours are true, the new iPhone 7 will have a non-standard, proprietary headphone jack – making every pair of headphones on earth useless.”

Although there’s no confirmation that the rumour is true, the petition has already attracted over 3,000 signatures.

Apple has a history of changing things to improve their devices.

A few years ago the US tech firm introduced the new lightning port which initially caused global outrage.

This new port left many unable to use iPhone accessories including speaker docks.

However, the new port has since been regarded as a hugely positive change with easier and faster charging.
