ADB mulls $750 mln loan to Azerbaijan for electricity distribution

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is considering a $750 million loan to Azerbaijan to improve electricity distribution in the ex-Soviet country, the bank said on Thursday.
   
The loan is to be disbursed by three equal tranches starting from June 3, 2016, to the state electricity distribution company Azersvet, which will allocate it among seven domestic electricity networks.
   
The investment programme aimed at improvement of electricity distribution is estimated to cost $1 billion, of which $250 million is to be financed by the Azeri government.
