Azerbaijan says woman crossing into Armenia is mental patient
Azerbaijan has said that a local woman who has recently crossed into Armenia has mental problems.
The identity of the woman is still unclear as the side give conflicting information.
APA news agency quoted the State Commission on Missing Persons and Hostages as saying that Qatiba Alakbarova crossed into Armenia on 7 June. The woman, born in 1977, is a resident of Gadabay District and is registered with the mental hospital in Qazax District, the commission said. It added that efforts are being made to get the woman back from Armenia.
Armenia's State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons said on 7 June that an Azeri woman, Zohra Valiyeva, born in 1977 and a resident of the village of Yaniqli of Azerbaijan's Tovuz District, had crossed into Armenia.
Azerbaijan's State Commission on Missing Persons and Hostages said that there is no person named Zohra Valiyeva among residents of the village of Yaniqli.
