Turkey to receive 2 bcm of Azerbaijani gas in 2018 as part of Stage 2 of Shah Deniz
Gas supplies to Turkey as part of Stage 2 of the development of the Shah Deniz field will amount to 2 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2018, State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) told Interfax.
"The start of gas supplies to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) as part of Stage 2 of the development of the Shah Deniz field is expected in July 2018. In the first year, supply volumes to Turkey will amount to 2 bcm, in the second year - 4 bcm, in the following period - 6 bcm per year," a SOCAR spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that gas supplies to Turkey as part of Stage 2 will be carried out on the basis of a contract on the purchase and sale of gas, which was signed with Turkey's Botas in October 2011.
