SOCAR cuts drilling slightly in H1

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) drilled 53,280 meters of wells in January-June 2016, 0.3% less than in the same period of last year, SOCAR told Interfax.


This included 52,063 meters of production drilling and 1,217 meters of exploration drilling.


SOCAR drilled 10,787 meters of wells in June alone, 9,839 meters of production drilling and 948 meters of exploration drilling.


SOCAR commissioned 26 new wells in January-June, seven of them in June.


SOCAR's drilling fell 18% in 2015 to 104,411 meters.
