Azerbaijani president speaks in favor of closer relations with Russia
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Monday he thinks it necessary to strengthen bilateral relations with Russia.
"At the meeting with the Russian president in St. Petersburg last month, we discussed issues of bilateral cooperation," Aliyev said at a meeting with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. "The key task now is to strengthen relations in the political, economic, transport, energy and humanitarian spheres."
"We are moving forward and I am sure our cooperation will be successful," he underscored.
