Moscow appreciates Baku's attitude to Russian initiatives on Karabakh settlement - Lavrov

 Moscow appreciates Baku's attitude to Russian initiatives on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.


"We highly appreciate your attitude to the Russian side's initiatives on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement," he said. "The process is really underway. Russian President Vladimir Putin is satisfied with the meeting in St. Petersburg [with the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on June 20 - TASS]. I am visiting the capitals of the two countries at his instruction."


The Russian top diplomat said he hopes his visit to Baku will promote the settlement process.
