Azerbaijan in 2016 starts barley exports to Iraq, Iran; 13,465 tonnes exported since start of year

Barley exports from Azerbaijan to Iraq and Iran in January-July 2016 amounted to 13,465 tonnes, head of the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry's State Phytosanitary Monitoring Service Jamal Guliyev said.


"This year Azerbaijan began barley exports. In Q1 Azerbaijan exported 9,138 tonnes of barley to Iraq and Iran, in July - another 4,327 tonnes," Guliyev said.


Of this, 3,116 tonnes were fodder barley and another 10,349 tonnes were for food.


He said that all exported products were certified.


He said that there currently are another number of orders and it is soon planned to send a new barley consignment for export.
