Azerbaijan TPP see generation fall 23% in H1

Аzerbaijan's thermal power plant generated 2.768 billion kWh of electricity in H1 2016, OJSC Azerenergy said in a statement.


In H1 2015 generation was 3.592 billion kWh. So in January-June 2016 power generation fell 23%.


"In H1 power generation at the station amounted to 2.768 billion kWh of electricity. In June 2016, 389 million kWh of electricity were produced at the plant," the statement said.


AzerEnergy said that in Q2 2016 capital repairs began at the plant on the fourth power-generating unit.


In 2015 Azerbaijan TPP generated 7.403 billion kWh of electricity.


At the Azerbaijan TPP there are eight power-generating units with an installed capacity of 300 MW each. At this TPP, a significant part of electricity generated in Azerbaijan is produced. Here natural gas and fuel oil are used as fuel.
