Two Azeri districts concerned over water pollution
People of two central Azerbaijani districts are seriously concerned over water pollution in a river they use for drinking and irrigation purposes, APA news agency reported on 20 August.
According to APA report, the water ofGirdiman River passing through Ismayilli and
Agsu districts turned into green in the last ten days caused by discharges of pollutants into the river.
The colour and taste of the water has changed and it has an unusual odor, and residents of several villages ofAgsu and Ismayilli are seriously concerned about the pollution, the report said.
A representative of the Ismayilli executive authorities in Garaybayli village said that possibly, recreation centers aroundGirdiman River polluted the water and toxic substances in the river seriously damage the people's health.
Recently, about 15 people from this village went to the hospital with stomach and intestine problems, symptoms of vomiting and skin diseases, he added.
