Mehriban Aliyeva receives honorary citizen diploma in Bulgaria

A ceremony of presenting the diploma of honorary citizen of Veliko Tarnovo city and honorary doctorate of St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo to Azerbaijan’s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was held at the Renaissance and the Constituent Assembly Museum in Bulgaria.
The presenter of the event noted that the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been awarded with the title of honorary citizen of Veliko Tarnovo for her merits in protection of the city’s cultural heritage.
Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov once again expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan’s first lady on behalf of the city’s society and noted that the title presented to Mehriban Aliyeva is the highest award of the city.
Panov pointed out that his proposal to name Azerbaijan’s first lady the honorary citizen was unanimously accepted during the solemn meeting of the City Hall Aug.25, 2016.
Then, the diploma and badge of honorary citizen of Veliko Tarnovo city were presented to Mehriban Aliyeva.
