Oil production in Azerbaijan down 0.3% in 9M, gas up 3.8%

Oil production in Azerbaijan in January-September 2016 amounted to 31.268 million tonnes, which is 0.3% lower than in the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.


Saleable oil production for the 9M also fell by 0.3% to 31.222 million tonnes.


According to the statistics committee, gas production in the reporting period rose 3.8% to 22.051 billion cubic meters ( bcm). Production of saleable gas in the republic fell 1.6% to 13.771 bcm.


It was reported that in 2015 oil production in Azerbaijan, including gas condensate, amounted to 41.689 million tonnes, gas - 29.743 bcm. The government is forecasting oil production in 2016 at 40.745 million tonnes and gas production at 29.345 bcm.
