There are strong earthquake focuses around Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, and those areas are the most active zones in the Caspian Sea, Gurban Yetirmishli, the Director of the Republican Seismological Service Center under Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), told APA.

"A quake hit the zone and it is expected to occur again”, Yetirmishli noted.

To the question "When will seabed stations be installed on the platforms, around the "Guneshli”, "Umid” and "Bahar” fields?” the director answered that the stations have been purchased, but not installed yet: "In this sense, we have financial problems. We have appealed to relevant authorities several times. Even the stations were purchased about three years ago.”

On November 4, a quake occurred in the Caspian Sea at about 11:00 pm and jolted the 10th sea platform of "Gunashli” offshore field, where the fire broke out on December 4, 2015.
