SOCAR president attends Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference

Rovnag Abdullayev, President of SOCAR visited the United Arab Emirates to attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference.


He held a series of meetings within the forum attended by the world's leading oil and gas companies. During the meeting with Bob Dudley, Group Chief Executive of BP, SOCAR was pointed out as a reliable partner in the BP's large-scale projects in Azerbaijan and the aspects of successful joint operations on Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil fields were in the focus of attention. The officials exchanged views on the issues of business development on joint projects carried out by the two companies in Azerbaijan and abroad. Then SOCAR president met up with Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and CEO of Total, discussing Total's successful operation in Azerbaijan and estimating the current state of cooperation between the companies.


They also highlighted the transition of 'Absheron' project into the investment phase and further extension of cooperation. During the meeting with Eldar Saetre, CEO of Statoil, with underlying the world energy market update, R. Abdullayev touched upon the development of ACG project, cooperation on the development of Garabagh field, as well as Statoil's prospect for joining the projects in Azerbaijan, and investment prospects too. SOCAR's projects were in the focus of attention during the meeting between Rovnag Abdullayev, President of SOCAR and Rex Tillerson, Chairman & CEO, Exxon Mobil Corp., who said they were attentively watching these projects and interested in deepening cooperation between SOCAR and Exxon Mobil.
