Azerbaijan planning to boost gas production by 32.4% by 2021

Gas production in Azerbaijan in 2020 is forecast at 38.711 billion cubic meters, which is 32.4% more than the planned figure for 2016 (29.243 bcm), the Azerbaijani government told Interfax.


"According to the government's forecasts, in 2018 gas production will amount to 30.317 bcm, in 2019 - 35.603 bcm," the government said.


The increase in gas production is expected due to the receipt in 2018 of first gas as part of Stage 2 of the development of the Shah Deniz field.
