Tariff Council differentiates tariffs for utilities

 The Tariff (Price) Council of Azerbaijan made a decision on differentiated system of payment for some public services, as well as new tariffs on energy carriers and medicine, the Tariff Council told APA.
 
At the regular meeting, the Tariff Council revised and regulated tariffs for gas, electricity, furnace oil and jet fuel.
 
Thus, natural gas tariffs for consumers, the annual consumption of which does not exceed 1500 cubic meters will stay on the same level of AZN 0.1 per cubic meter. The cost of one cubic meter of gas for consumers, annual consumption of more than 1500 cubic meters, set at 0.2 AZN.
 
Moreover, in order to prevent higher prices for electricity, gas tariffs for companies that produce electricity, set at AZN 120 per 1,000 cubic meters, and for consumers who are not on the population category - on the level of AZN 200 per 1,000 cubic meters.
 
New tariffs will come into force from January 2017 for consumers of the population category and for consumers from other categories on December 1, 2016.
 
Changes in tariffs for natural gas made it necessary to revision of electricity tariffs, and the wholesale price of a kilowatt-hour of electricity was set at 0,057 manat.
 
Retail price of one kilowatt-hour of electricity for consumers whose monthly electricity consumption does not exceed 250 kilowatts / hour, set at 0.07 manat and for consumers, whose electricity consumption exceed this figure at 0.11 manat per exceeded kilowatts.
