26 more state properties privatized in Azerbaijan

In an auction held Dec. 13 by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Property Issues, 26 state properties were sold as part of a new privatization program, the committee said Dec. 13.

One small state property unit and two unused non-residential areas of the privatized facilities are located in Baku, one facility is located in the city of Ganja, two facilities are in Sheki city, one facility is in Zagatala city, two unused non-residential areas are in the city of Sumqayit, another two facilities are in the city of Goychay, one facility is in the city of Agdash and one facility is in the Fuzuli district.

Azerbaijan’s state budget will receive 4.3 million manats (AZN) as a result of the privatization of these facilities.

The official exchange rate on Dec. 13 is 1.743 AZN/USD.

The next auction, which is to be held Dec. 20, will see 84 state-owned properties put up for privatization.

The third stage of privatization started as part of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on additional measures to improve the state property privatization process dated May 19, 2016, as well as the president’s decree on some measures to improve the management efficiency and speed up the state property privatization process dated July 19, 2016.
