Azerbaijan will increase the number of direct flights to major European cities to 100 by 2025, according to the Strategic Road Map for the development of specialized tourism industry in the country, published by Azerbaijan’s official press.

It is noted that the goal was set so that Azerbaijan would have one of the busiest airports in the region by 2025, and, as a priority, it is stipulated to increase the number of direct flights to major cities in Europe from 49 to 100.

In order to attract even greater number of tourists to Azerbaijan, it is also planned to increase the number of charter flights during winter and summer tourism seasons.

The main attention will be paid to passenger transportation by low-cost carriers, but it is also scheduled to ensure investments in airports.
